Support During Difficult Times
The Shahjalal Mosque and Islamic Center is here to support the community during the loss of a loved one. We do not provide funeral services directly; however, we can assist you in arranging them. We work to facilitate the rites of passage (Janazah) with dignity, respect, and in accordance with the Sunnah.
We Assist With Arrangements For
- Ghusl (Washing): Facilitating access to facilities for washing and shrouding the deceased.
- Kafan (Shrouding): Assisting with the provision of the burial shroud.
- Janazah Salah: Hosting the Funeral prayer at the Mosque.
- Burial Arrangements: Guidance and assistance with local cemetery paperwork and transport arrangements.
What to do when a death occurs
1. Contact a doctor (GP or Hospital) to obtain the
Medical Certificate of Cause of Death.
2. Register the death at the local Registrar's office to get the
"Green Form" for burial.
3. Contact the Mosque to begin the arrangement process.
